ARA to Present Webinar on McDowell County, WV Historic Resources

Join Courtney Zimmerman of Aurora Research Associates on Thursday, May 28 at 1pm to hear about the company’s county-wide survey of McDowell County, West Virginia. This presentation was originally to have take place at the Preservation Alliance of WV’s conference earlier in May, which was cancelled due to COVID-19. ARA conducted the survey in 2016 as a consultant for the West Virginia Division of Highways, which received a US DOT Transportation Enhancement Grant for the project.

ARA’s team surveyed over 2000 properties throughout McDowell County, including coal company towns and housing, company stores, railroad-related resources and much more. Come explore this fascinating and little-known area virtually with us.
