Robinson Grand Theater, Clarksburg, WV

Aurora Research Associates has been working on an exciting project in Clarksburg, WV: the rehabilitation of the historic Robinson Grand Theater. ARA is providing historic preservation consulting services, including Section 106 environmental review. The City of Clarksburg purchased the building and the project team, led by WYK Architects, is working right now on schematic designs for the building. I visited the theater earlier this summer and was interviewed by city staff for a series of youtube videos on the project. You can check it out here, and take a look at the other videos as well for a great overview of the different aspects of the project.

I have also completed an initial historic overview of this fascinating structure. Click on the link below to read it. If you are from Clarksburg, or just familiar with the history building, please feel free to send any comments, corrections or additions my way. The renovation of this theater will be an amazing benefit to the community when it is completed, and I am proud to be a part of its comeback!
